Having spent the day showing you shoes that are (in my opinion, anyway) best described as “interesting” rather than “beautiful”, I thought I’d end on a high note, so I saved the very best for last.

These shoes are more or less perfect, as far as I’m concerned. I adore both taupe and yellow as colours, and although it’s never occurred to me to put the two together, I’m now asking myself why on earth not, because it’s a match made in shoe heaven. These are stunning in a very sophisticated way, with the thicker heel and flat bow giving them a very classic, Audrey-Hepburn-esque allure. I’ve been really impressed with Mellow Yellow so far this year, but I think these shoes are my favourites: it’s always hard for me to resist a shoe with a curved side, but the bright yellow bow tipped me over the edge.
