‘Talia’ flats, $19
Why is it that the simplest shoes are often the hardest to find?
I bought a pair of gold, pointed flats from Zara last summer, and almost as soon as I found them, the hunt for their replacements commenced. Not that I actually NEED to replace them, I hasten to add. No, the original shoes are still going strong, but that’s at least partly because I try not to wear them too often for fear of them wearing out. Silly, huh? I mean, what’s the point of buying shoes if you’re not going to wear them?
My issue with flats is that I seem to wear them out super-quickly. Gold flats are one of my shoe essentials. I’m never without at least one pair of them, and ideally, I like to have MORE than one pair, just so I know there’s always a pair in reserve. My preference is for pointed styles, and the Zara shoes I found are PERFECT, which is why I’m already dreading the day the “die”… and constantly keeping an eye out for their replacements.
Can I find them, though? No, I cannot. You’d think such a simple, basic style would be ten-a-penny, but after a year of looking, I’ve yet to find a pair that are just right. Until now, that is. These ‘Talia’ flats are exactly what I’ve been looking for. Metallic upper (According to Lulu’s the uppers are silver: they actually look gold on my screen, but I have to assume they know what they’re talking about…), pointed toe, sweet little bow, very affordable price tag. Yes, these are perfect… except for the fact that Lulu’s doesn’t ship to the UK. D’oh. Isn’t that always the way of it?
My search for the perfect pair of flats continues…
Love them, want them!
They definitely look gold to me too.
