Kate Spade ‘Charm’ glitter slingbacks

I managed to acquire a few more pairs of shoes during my short break from blogging, and the first pair I have to show you is these ‘Charm’ slingbacks, by Kate Spade.

I love Kate Spade in general, and I’ve liked this style for a long time now, so when I found one solitary pair of these sitting on a shelf in TJ Maxx, I took it as a SIGN. Especially given that the retail price of these is £224 (I found them at Saks Fifth Avenue for that price, but if you’d like a pair, I’d definitely recommend checking out TJ Maxx first!), but I paid just $50 for mine: result!

To be honest, I probably wouldn’t have been willing to pay much more than that, because as much as I love the shoes (And I REALLY love them!), they’re not the kind of thing that will be worn on anything like a regular basis, and I don’t know about you, but I’m much more likely to want to “invest” in shoes that will get daily use, rather than ones that will only come out on special occasions.

That said, I was pretty happy with the price I paid, and since they’ve been in my possession, I’ve spent quite a bit of time prancing around at home in them, and hoping I find an excuse to wear them “in real life” soon. I bought these in a US 6.5: as I’ve mentioned before, I’m normally either a 6.5 or a 7 in US sizing, so I’d say these are pretty true to size, although they’re fairly narrow, so that’s something to bear in mind.

They seem comfortable enough to wear (Or as comfortable as stilettos ever are, anyway), and I think the 4″ heel is a good height for a shoe like this: it’s high enough to lengthen the leg and add a bit of height, but not so high you won’t be able to dance in them – which is what glitter shoes were surely designed to do!

This is a style Kate Spade releases every year, and normally makes in a variety of different colours and fabrics, too. I often see them used as bridal shoes, and I think they’d be perfect for that, while making fabulous party shoes too, for the non-brides amongst us.
