As much as I love the bright yellow Tory Burch dress Hilary Swank is wearing in this photo, I have to admit that my eyes went right to her shoes:
These shoes are also by Tory Burch, and are the ‘Tarlen’ rope wedges. I’m not quite sure what to make of them, to be honest. I always appreciate a shoe that’s a little different from all the rest, and these definitely fall into that category: the rope also gives them a vaguely nautical feel, which is almost always guaranteed to win my affection. But, I don’t know, there’s something standing in the way of my unreserved love for them, and no, it’s not the $295 price tag. (Although that too, obviously.)

I liked them, and this time, a celebrity who is not wearing shoes two sizes bigger than her feet!
I think they might look better (and less sore-inducing) if the straps wouldn’t look like plain package rope. Ouch. Also, a German saying came to mind, which I’ll try to translate (I didn’t find a real translation but you’re more than welcome to shoot one my way! :-D)… “Art” comes from “ability” not from “wanting” or else it would be “Wart”… 😉
Relatable Style
To me the rope in this case doesn’t look nautical, but as if the wearer was marooned in the wilderness and had to manufacture makeshift shoes from the flotsam she found…
The shoes are ok but really do not go with that dress
I’m not a huge fan but they look a lot better on.
I don’t have much of an opinion on the shoes, they are rather “meh” for me. But they do NOT go with that dress which needs something more delicate. But from ankles up Hilary looks gorgeous!
