The first thing you need to know about these shoes is that I found them at Yoox.com. which means the usual disclaimers apply, i.e. they’re past season, and in low stock – apologies to those of you who fell in love at first sight!
The second thing you need to know is that I’m pretty sure my Barbie had shoes like these when I was a little girl. Well, OK, maybe you don’t NEED to know that, but it’s true, nevertheless: this particular shade of pink is one that will always be associated with Barbie dolls in my mind, but don’t worry – if bubblegum pink isn’t quite your thing, these also come in a dark red, which is slightly more sophisticated.
The colour is one thing, however, but it’s the shape that really makes these shoes special: the t-bar straps and small peep toe have a bit of a 70s vibe to them, and while I wouldn’t describe these as “retro” or “vintage-inspired”, they’re not totally modern either. These have a heel height of just under 6″, although they won’t feel quite that high to walk in, thanks to the 1.37″ covered platform sole.
Oh, and there’s one more thing you need to know about these shoes: they’re the perfect match for this dress:
♥ Giuseppe Zanotti shoes ♥ Coast dress ♥ Stella McCartney clutch ♥ L.A. Colours nail polish ♥ Dior Addict lip balm
I actually found the dress before the shoes, and my first thought was that it would look great with black peep toes. I still think this would be amazing with all black accessories, but the colour match of the shoes was just too hard for me to resist! Sometimes you just have to go with the “fun” option, even if it’s not what you’d necessarily wear in real life!
They would go perfectly with that dress! I didn’t think I like them until I saw that combination, but now I do!
