forest green shoes and boots

I realise I’m a little bit biased, because green is my favourite colour, but I’ve been noticing a lot of darker shades of green popping up in the footwear sections lately, so I thought I’d highlight three examples of the shade.

I’ve described this colour as “forest green’, which isn’t totally accurate. There are lots of variations available, and the three shoes in my image all all slightly different shades, from the dark, almost-black green of the knee-high boots, to the brighter, grass green of the chelsea boots. What these all DO have in common, however, is that they’re towards the darker end of the green spectrum, which makes them perfect for autumn.

As lovely as this colour is to look at, however, it can be a slightly tricky one to style, and it’s all too easy to end up looking like a woodland elf.  Now, I’m not suggesting for a second that you go head-to-toe in this colour (that way you really WILL look like an elf. Or like Robin Hood…) but if you love the colour as much as I do, you might be pleased to know that it’s not just footwear that’s having a bit of a forest green moment. I found all of these items at Topshop (which is also where two of the pairs of shoes came from: can you tell I’m loving good ol’ Toppers rights now?), and there are plenty more where those came from.

Here are some gorgeous greens to go with the shoes – or NOT to go with the shoes, as the case may be.
