Dune ‘Blossom’ floral print court shoes, £79
When I was putting together my Dune Spring/Summer Lookbook post earlier this week, I decided to take my own advice and go and take a look at the brand’s website. Well, I didn’t get very far: in fact, I didn’t get further than the very first pair of shoes I found there, which were these ‘Blossom’ floral print court shoes.
Of course, there are TONS of floral print shoes out there at the moment, and given that there are endless different ways to do floral print, they all give a totally different look to what is essentially the same shoe: in most cases a pointed toe, high-heeled court shoe. This particular floral print, however, stands out amongst all those other ones: it has a bit of a vintage-inspired feel to it, and the orange/pink/yellow colourway is quite unusual – not to mention super-sweet. I really like the baby pink stiletto heels, and the fact that the main colour being used here is such a pale one should make these easier to style than you might think.
So, how would you style these shoes?
I’ve mentioned before that when a shoe has a particularly busy print, I like to keep the rest of the outfit as uncluttered as possible, so I’ve fallen back on my “if in doubt, wear jeans” rule, and used a pair of basic blues as the foundation of this look:
What to wear with floral print shoes:
jeans // t-shirt // blazer // bag
To offset the simplicity of the jeans and t-shirt, I’ve picked out two of the colours in the shoe to accessorize with: the lemon of the blazer, and the orange/coral of the bag. Slouchy jeans paired with sharply-pointed shoes and a tailored blazer is one of my favourite smart/casual looks right now: if only I could actually pull off boyfriend jeans!
Ohhhhh, they’re so pretty and summery!
I like the shoes (though I’m not too sold on the pointy toe), I really like the outfit though. That pale yellow blazer is really cute.
I want to like them, but I’m not sure I do. Big fan of the outfit though.
