Dorothy Perkins shoe boots, £49.50
Dorothy Perkins describe these shoe boots as “oxblood”. They look plain old “brown” on my monitor, but, of course, colours can look different depending on your settings (This is one of the big drawbacks of online shopping, unfortunately), so I’ll leave it up to you to decide what colour you think they are.
Colour aside, these are perhaps not the “perfect” shoe boots, but they’re pretty close. They have all of the ingredients I look for in this style of shoe, the most important of which being the slimline, ankle-hugging shape. I see lots of women who look fantastic in chunky, slouchy ankle boots, but, sadly for me, I’m not one of them, and any time I try to replicate that look, I simply look like I’m wearing someone else’s shoes. For that reason, I try to leave the oversized look to those who are better able to pull it off, and look for streamlined shapes and pointed toes in my winter footwear instead. These boots have both of those, and they gain extra Shoeper Points from the studded heel, which glams them up a little. I love the touch of gold here, which contrasts nicely with the brown/oxblood upper, and warms up the overall look.
These are currently reduced to £49.50 at Dorothy Perkins, who seem to have a near-permanent sale on at the moment, and are currently offering 30% off everything on the site
They look brown to me too. Very nice, whatever colour they are!
