closet essentials: trousers and skirts

jeans // capri pants // chinos // pencil skirt // full skirt

Jeans

Although I’m mostly a skirts-n-dresses kinda girl, I really couldn’t live without at least one pair of blue jeans. If I have to get dressed in a hurry, or just want to be comfortable, jeans are what I’ll instinctively reach for, making them true closet essentials. I go for skinny, ankle-length denim in a mid-blue wash, for a classic, casual look.

Capri pants

Another “must have” in my closet is a pair of capri pants. I pretty much live in these when I’m not wearing jeans, and they’re another one of those items that can be dressed up or down really easily. They also have that retro/classic appeal, which works perfectly with my style.

Pencil skirts

I have a fairly large selection of pencil skirts, and tend to go for jersey fabrics, which are easily dressed up or down.

Full skirts

Full skirts form the basis of my retro-inspired style. I have them in every colour of the rainbow, but couldn’t live without a black, fifties-style skirt, which can be worn with all of those cropped cardigans, bardot tops and t-shirts above!

Shoe Closet Essentials:

I wrote a post on my shoe closet essentials just a couple of weeks ago, so I won’t repeat myself, and risk making this post any longer than it already is! You can read more about my must-have shoes here.

  • Looking at the first page (haven’t read through the entire post yet) I can already say two things: 1) I love all the items shown 🙂 and 2) I’d also add a large carry-all bag (it’s essential for uni students to carry around everything they own so I definitely use big bags the most)
