Christian Louboutin Gamma Talon Purple Suede Slingbacks, £575
There’s only one good thing about winter, as far as I’m concerned, and it’s the Christian Louboutin Autumn/Winter collection. (And coats. I have a bit of a thing for coats. It’s not so MUCH of a thing that I actually look forward to having to wear them, mind you, but I’m rambling, so I’ll stop.)
This week, some shoes from the Autum/Winter 2014 collection were released onto the official Louboutin website, and I instantly appointed ‘Gamma Talon’ as my favourites. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that these aren’t just my favourites from the winter collection: they’re up there with some of my favourite pairs of Louboutins ever. High praise indeed.
Not is the colour beautiful, rich and opulent (as well as providing the perfect contrast to the red sole), the heel is amazing. Described as the “apostrophe heel”, this uses the simple technique of cutting into the suede with the red of the sole, creating the illusion of the stiletto being even taller and thinner than it actually is. That heel is really no different in shape from many of the other 120mm styles out there, but it looks positively lethal thanks to that master-stroke by the designer: yet another example of Louboutin doing something super-simple, to amazing effect.
These also come in a bright yellow leather upper, which doesn’t have nearly the appeal for me, neon yellow being one of my least favourite (and one of the least wearable, I think) colours out there, but I’m going to cross my fingers and hope these are released in other colours soon. Imagine black leather, with that shiny red cutting into the heel! So many possibilities; SO much money involved in buying them all!
He did it again: pure perfection!
I completely agree, what a beautiful shoe:)
Oooooh, I’ve been looking for some ‘special’ purple shoes for my wedding! Best ramp up the wedding fund saving!
I’m with you Amber, these might nearly be one of my all time favourite pairs of Loubouins. Stunning.
