New Look heels, £17.99
It’s been a long time since I last ventured into New Look. There was a time, not so long ago, when a large percentage of my shoe collection bore the trademark “Your feet look gorgeous” logo in the insole, but while I still own quite a few of those shoes, for some reason the brand’s more recent releases haven’t impressed me quite as much.
One thing’s for sure, though: when it comes to shoes, New Look is still pretty hard to beat on price, and when I saw these little blue pumps, available for just £17.99, they made me think I should make the effort to visit the store in person sometime soon. (I don’t know about you, but I’ve always found New Look’s in-store selection to be better than the website, so it’s generally worth a look. Or actually, maybe not if you’re participating in the Shoe Challenge: with these kind of prices, it can be very easy to get carried away!)
I really like the sky blue shade of the uppers on these, and the sweetheart vamp is every bit as sweet as the name suggests. The d’orsay cut is something we’re not seeing all that often at the moment, and for that reason it can feel a little bit dated on some shoes, but I think these ones get away with it. These would make nice dress shoes, and are also the kind of thing that very easily dresses up a pair of boyfriend jeans, or almost any other more casual outfit.
These are also available in black, and they’re not real suede, but I’m sure you guessed that from the price, didn’t you?
They’re a bit too 80s twee for my liking. The colour is pretty though!
