Christian Louboutin ‘Doracora’ patent heart pumps, £552
Aaaand Christian Louboutin does it again, with yet another variation on his famous ‘Cora’ heart pumps – and just in time for Christmas, too. Well, at least that’s MY Christmas list sorted – not that I’ll actually get them, obviously, but if you don’t ask…
Now, I know these are coming hot on the stiletto heels of the Charlotte Olympia heart pumps I featured last week, and they’re fairly similar in style. I make no apologies for the repetition, however, because Christian Louboutin excels at creating this type of shoe, and I think these have to be my favourite ones yet. Doracora has an almond toe, which creates a softer look than the sharply pointed versions that came before it, and the overall vibe is a little more playful. I’m also a fan of the nude and pink upper, which is super-sweet, but which will also be fairly versatile. If you’d rather make more of a statement, however, these also come in leopard print, with a bright red heart – fabulous!
I’m awarding these Shoe Kryptonite status – although, having said that, I think Louboutin has yet to make a heart-fronted shoe that hasn’t been kryptonite to me. If they’re not quite your style, however, perhaps these peep toes will do it for you instead:
These are called ‘Pinder’ and I love the little spikes around the peep toe, on the heel, and lining the cut-out sections: if you’re not looking closely, you’ll probably miss them, but take a closer look and you’ll catch this dangerous-looking little detail, which gives a classic peep toe a bit of extra edge.
And with that, I think I’ll leave it there for today: I could go on, but it’s never a good idea for me to spend too much time looking at lovely Louboutins…
I am not usually a fan of hearts on shoes but as you say, Louboutin can do no wrong and they are just gorgeous. Loving the gold shoes too.
