Christian Louboutin ‘Cora’ heart-front sandals, $845
It’s our first Friday Fix of the new year, and I’m picking up where I left off, with another ‘Cora’, and another heart!
These sandals are called ‘Cora’, and they’re the sandals version of the pumps of the same name which I showed you a couple of weeks ago. Sadly for this ‘Cora’, I don’t think these are quite as special as their closed-toe sisters. A sandal is never going to have quite as much impact as a pump (purely because there’s a lot less upper there to work with!), but these ones also suffer from the fact that the large heart at the front of the foot is made from PVC which – whisper it – I personally think looks just a little bit cheap.
Of course, “cheap” is the very last thing these shoes are – they’re $845, to be exact – so I think there’s a good chance they’ll look better in real life, and if that’s the case, then I have nothing but love for them. I’m sure I don’t need to re-iterate my weakness for a heart on a shoe, and these are refreshingly fun, and just a little bit different for Christian Louboutin, whose been focusing on sophisticated, somewhat serious style for the last season.
Now, don’t get me wrong – I LOVE all of those sophisticated black pumps, and count some of them as my favourite shoes of all time, but there’s room for a little bit of light-heartedness (no pun intended) in the shoe closet too, and these could be just the way to achieve that.
What do you think of them?

I love a good strappy sandal, it’s actually the heart that is putting me off these!
