Charlotte Olympia ‘Prissy’ red bow-front t-bar pumps, 725 EUR
I know many of my readers dislike the ‘classic’ Charlotte Olympia demi-platform style, not to mention the very whimsical (to put it mildly) feel much of the designer’s collections tend to have. I’m hoping, however, that these ‘Prissy’ pumps might find favour even with those of you who don’t class yourself as Charlotte Olympia fans: they’re certainly quite far removed from the trademark styles we’re used to seeing from this brand, although that doesn’t mean they’re boring: far from it, in fact.
These shoes actually DO have a very small platform, if you look closely: it’s not, however, the type of platform which draws attention to itself, so its purpose is more of a practical one than an aesthetic one: it’ll help take some of the height out of that 4.5″ heel, and hopefully make the shoes feel a little easier to walk in. The rest of the design has something of a fairytale feel to it: for some reason – probably because of the bright red patent upper – they make me think of Snow White, and wit that in mind, I think they could look fantastic paired with something like a simple (or even not-so-simple) white dress.
It’s actually a red dress which I’ve chosen to style these with, however: the monochrome look has been very popular in recent years, and wearing the same colour from head-to-toe can be an easy way to make a very bold statement with your look. I’ve included some gold accessories here, to provide a bit of contrast, and the resulting look is a little bit festive because of it: one to keep in mind for the party season, perhaps!

They’re just not doing it for me, but I can’t explain why.
The numerous tiny little bows are also not doing it for me. Otherwise, I really like the rest of the shoe with the little platform. (And that dress is gorgeous!!)
