Christian Louboutin Malaika chain slingbacks, £629.73
It’s not often I say this about a pair of Louboutins, but I’m not totally sure how I feel about these Christian Louboutin Malaika pumps.
On the one hand, I’m all about that low-vamped, asymmetric toe: I could look at that aaaallll day. I’ve also been won round to the ways of the perspex-insert shoe in recent months: I know I’ve said this before, but Louboutin is the master of this, using the clear sections to create a barely-there effect which is (almost) always stunning.
So, that just leaves the chains, then. I’ve never really been into chains on shoes: I think they can cheapen the effect, somehow, and while that isn’t the case here (I don’t think these shoes could look cheap if they tried, which is a good thing considering they cost £629…), it does make me like them a little bit less than I might have otherwise. They’re the kind of shoes you just can’t ignore, though, and that alone is enough to earn them their spot as our Friday Fix, so I’ll be interested to know what everyone else thinks of them.
These have a 4″ covered heel, one thing I do know is that the side view is truly stunning: it’s just one long curve, with the gold chain appearing almost to float above it, and the more I look at it, the more I like it. What do you think of these shoes?

I’m also not a fan of chains (or studs, or spikes, anything like that, really), but this looks more like a beautiful gold bracelet or necklace to me, and I love it.
I’m ambivalent but it’s because of the PVC, which I am not a fan of.
