I think this season definitely marks the return of the black pump. Of course, it’s never really been away, as such, but whereas in recent years we’ve seen a plethora of brightly coloured uppers (some all on the same shoe: colourblocking, anyone?), this winter I’ve been noticing more and more brands going back to basics, with the black pump.
Not that there’s anything particularly “basic” about these, shoes, of course. Encrusted with black diamanté studs, and with a slingback strap and stiletto heel, they’re darkly glamorous, and will look as good with tights as they will without, so if you have a chilly walk to your party venue, at least you won’t have to freeze during it.
These look like exactly the same shape as the green suede slingbacks I have from the same brand: those shoes are one of the most comfortable pair of heels I own, so if these are cut from the same pattern, they’ll hopefully be just as easy on the feet as they are on the eyes.
