BCBG Max Azria ‘Falcon’ satin slingbacks, £137.46
Oh dear, I seem to have found myself lured in by yet another pair of green and/or sparkly heels: what a shame! I do try to resist these things, I promise: I just always seem to fail. Probably because I don’t try all THAT hard. Anyway, these BCBG Max Azria slingbacks were far too pretty to be ignored. They’re basically the perfect shade of green (I know emerald is supposed to be the “colour of the year”, but I’ve been finding much more mint green in stores at the moment. I wouldn’t complain either way, because I love both colours, but emerald always strikes me as more of an autumn/winter shade, so it’s nice to the see the more summery mint continuing to be popular after last summer’s glut of it.), and the crystals on the heel and slingback are to. die. for. And trust me, I don’t say that as often as you might think for a woman who runs a shoe blog.
The combination of satin and crystal on these makes them the kind of thing most people will reserve for evening wear. I think they’d make great bridesmaid shoes (or even bridal shoes: I’ve never subscribed to the idea that wedding shoes should always be white/cream, or that they need to perfectly match the dress…), but let’s face it, there’s always SOME reason to wear sparkly shoes, isn’t there? And if not, you can always invent one…
I like these very much. What a beautiful colour!
