I could just be imagining this, but I’m fairly sure I can remember my mum owning shoes like when I was a little girl. Actually, knowing my mum, if my memory’s right, she probably still has them tucked away somewhere, so I must remember to ask her about them next time I see her!
These definitely have a very 1970s vibe about them, and there’s also a little bit of YSL thrown in there too. I think they’re just a touch front-heavy for my tastes, but I’m judging purely by the photo, here: they could look different on a foot, and I do like the colours, so next time I’m in New Look I may well try them on and give them a whirl around the store.
What do you think of them? (Click here to buy them)
I really like them – but, then again, I seem to be utterly in love with all of New Look’s shoes this season: the navy blue velvet ankle boots, the grey sheepskin boots, the perfect black suede wedges… drool!
Yes, they look very 70-ish! I had a similar pair in black patent leather, but the strap was more maryjane-like and the heal was much heavier. I bought them in Oxford 1973 when I was there as a language student. I live in Sweden and these extremley stunning pair of shoes really made people stare! I so regret that I didnĀ“t keep them!
A biiiig YES from me, I loved them!
Pretty! I’m definitely going to pay New Look a visit :).
They look a lot like a vintage pair I have, but with a slimmer heel. Mine are black, but I definitely like the navy- and mine are falling to bits, so who knows, these might be just what I need!
I think the platform is a bit too high, but I remember having shoes like this back in the day.
What is the model name of the heels :)? – thanks!!!!!
