Whoops, I did it again…

If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you’ve probably already seen this:

It’s the box containing my latest pair of Sarenza Brand Ambassador shoes. (It’s also Rubin’s Hairy Bone, which has obviously decided it wants to appear in all of my photos fro now on. Weird.) I feel I have to justify it in some way, so let  me just say this:

I had been drinking .

OK, that sounded bad, didn’t it?

Let me clarify: Shoeperman and I were having a bit of a movie night at home, and we’d opened a bottle of wine, as you do. So my willpower was significantly lowered, is what I’m trying to tell you.

Before I went to bed, I decided to just have a quick look at the Sarenza website. I had a gift code I still hadn’t used, you see, and I figured it wouldn’t hurt to take a look, so I loaded up the page, and hit up the “new arrivals” section.

And there they were.

Yes, I know, I know: I said I didn’t need any more the LAST time this happened. But back when I showed you the Vivienne Westwood/Melissa Fall 2011 collection, there was a particular pair of shoes that particularly took my fancy: the pink, glittery Lady Dragons.

And there they were on the Sarenza website, which I just so happened to have a code for.

And now here they are on my shoes shelves, where they belong:

They’re actually a slightly darker pink than I was expecting, judging from the product shots. It’s such a neutral kind of shade, though, that I think it’ll work almost as a “nude” and go with everything, which is one of the reasons I was drawn to this particular version. Well, that and the glitter, obviously.

So, I know that some might consider four pairs of jelly shoes to be just a tad excessive. I might even agree. But I blame the wine. IT WAS THE WINE, people.

But I do not regret it for one second.

Thank you yet again to the lovely people at Sarenza, for nurturing my jelly shoe obsession (and my Carvela obsession, too) so brilliantly! If you’d like to buy a pair for yourself, you can click here to do it, but if you’re a fellow jelly-shoe obsessive, rendered powerless by the sight of those oversized hearts, I feel it’s only fair to warn you that they also have them in red. I’m trying really hard not to think about the red…

  • I’d not seen those ones! They’re fab! I’d ordered the red ones from Spartoo but they cancelled my order saying that the last pair they had in my size weren’t in a fit state to be sent out. 🙁

    • Oh, that’s so disappointing – are they getting any more in? The red ones are fabulous, too: I was torn between them and these ones, but I’ve loved these since I first saw them, so I decided to go with my first choice 🙂

  • YAY!
I love the bronzey colour of the heart – I was so glad of the shade that came on mine.
Having looked again at your black ones… I wonder if I should get another pair….

Bad Shoeperwoman! Leading me to temptation!
But then again…the more pairs you have…the more insignificant my one pair(maybe two pairs…) looks! xxx

  • doesn’t your feet get sweaty in those plastic shoes? i am just curious. the last time i have worn plastic shoes was when i was in grade school… and that was more than 20 years ago. i could no longer remember how it felt.

  • This is possibly the best drunken impulse buy I’ve ever seen…I only end up buying dodgy curries after I’ve had a few. Love these shoes. Shoegal Fi also has a pair just like them!

  • Wow, congratulations! I loved the color of those! You did it right, and I’m glad you had wine! They are lovely, just waiting to see with which outfit you’ll wear them! (And well… as I told you, I wear Melissa since I was a teenager, and at that time I didn’t drink wine, so… go on with wine and jelly shoes too, it’s always so nice to find shoes we love!)

  • These are lovely, and as a fan of Melissa Lady Dragon shoes, I’ve been thinking about getting some in this colour myself. It’s always a hard choice though, as there are so many great colour combinations… I’ve noticed some white with shiny red hearts that I’m sure I could get a lot of use out of too!

  • Oooh, gorgeous! I don’t know what you’ve done to me Amber but since I started regularly reading your blog I’ve fallen in love with Lady Dragon shoes. They are so fun. Glitter AND Lady Dragon shoes? Perfection!

As for drunk shopping, I’ve never done that before but now that I’ve been warned I’m going to have to have my boyfriend/friends take away my laptop next time we go drinking.

  • i wore these on my wedding day – and there are lots of pics of people sniffing my shoes because they really do smell of bubblegum! but i have to confess, they did tear up my feet a bit… the problem with rubber is that it’s not really going to flex to fit, is it? *sigh*

  • I have the same shoes and I absolutely love them. They’re super comfortable!!! I hope you’re enjoying them as much as I am 😉
