This is one of the few times I find myself wishing I lived in London. Selridges is currently hosting an exhibition of Vivienne Westwood shoes, from 1973 to the present day, and the grande dame of fashion herself turned up to take a look at her work this week. Pictured above are the huge platforms which sent Naomi Campbell flying during a 1993 runway show. Take a look under the jump to see some more Westwood shoes through the ages…
Rocking Horse ballerinas, 1986
Super-elevated cowboy boots, 1994
Hammerhead trainer, 1981
Pirate boots, 1981
Witches Three-tounged shoe, 1983
Green satin winter boots, 2010
Swarovski sandals, 1998
Sometimes I wonder about her “fashion sense”.
I’d love to own those rocking horse shoes. Just for the heck of it. Haha.
I have a pair of Irregular Choice rocking horse shoes almost exactly the same as the Vivienne ones! needless to say they have never been worn because they’re crazy but i couldnt resist them as they were in the sale 😀
Damn! The exhibition finishes two days before I’d get the time to go. 🙁
I want those rocking horse T.T
