Unusual Shoes: Dolce & Gabbana face wedges, £1,305
It’s been a long time since I last showed you some of what I euphemistically call “unusual shoes”, and what SOME people might call “downright ugly shoes”. I did start an occasional series on these unusual shoes a few months ago, but I general prefer to focus on the shoes I love, as opposed to the ones I… don’t love… so it kinda fell by the wayside. Then today I saw these Dolce & Gabbana wedges, and it just wasn’t enough for me to sit and stare at them on my own: I had to share my reaction with someone, and as ShoeperMan and the dog were the only people available, and neither of them are particularly into shoes, unusual or otherwise, I’m sharing them with you. There’s no need to thank me.
So, these, as I said, are by Dolce & Gabbana, who’ve been on a roll lately, making some absolutely amazing shoes, so I guess they were due a bit of a mis-step, huh? No brand can be perfect all the time, and Dolce & Gabbana… well, they’re one of the most creative brands out there, and I love them for it. But sometimes, when a brand is known for making very whimsical, and occasionally “out there” designs , those designs can end up being either very, very good, or very, very bad. Now, I’m not saying these shoes are very, very bad, but… actually, I AM saying that. Because I hate them. I always hesitate to admit that, because I’ve had some actual hate mail in my time from people who get really, REALLY upset at the thought that not everyone likes the same shoes they do (Seriously, it would amaze you how angry people get over shoes…), but hey: everyone’s taste is different, and that’s absolutely fine. And just because I don’t like these shoes, it doesn’t mean no one else will like them, does it?
So… DO you?
I don’t like them because they are so cheap looking. Just awful.
Dear lord…..
