Topshop ‘Villa’ bow flats, £18
I’ve shown you Topshop’s ‘Villa’ flats before, but the shoes have just been re-released in a range of new colours for Spring, and this fresh, mint green shade almost leapt out of the page at me, begging to be featured.
For me, these come pretty close to being the perfect flats. The pointed, flat-bow shape, has a very “Audrey Hepburn” vibe to it, and will ensure that these look effortlessly chic with everything from jeans to dresses. The colour, of course, is perfect (these also come in baby blue and coral), and the grossgrain upper makes them feel a little more special. As much as I love them, though, that upper is the reason these only come CLOSE to being perfect: they’re beautiful to look at, but I find flat shoes tend to wear out quickly at the best of times, and this delicate fabric probably won’t make these the most hard-wearing shoes you’ll ever own. On the plus side, they ARE only £18, so even if you don’t get to wear them for years, you’ll at least be able to get your money’s worth out of them.
Also on my Topshop wish list right now is this grid-print bonded midi skirt:
I have a version of this skirt in grey, with a black polka dot print, and I absolutely love it. The thick fabric makes the skirt incredibly full and structured, even without a petticoat underneath: I know that will put a lot of people off, as it does make it look a little more dressy, but the fullness is what I love about it – I think it really helps stop this length of skirt from looking too frumpy, which is always a consideration with midi skirts, especially if you’re wearing them with flats. Speaking of which, I probably wouldn’t wear this skirt with the mint flats shown, but that baby blue version could be nice!
I actually tried these on 2 weeks ago in Oxford Circus-and I love them! so comfy and stylish…..I haven’t purchased them yet though lol
