Dorothy Perkins have just started stocking some styles by shoe brand ‘Timeless’, so the first thing to note about these shoes is that they’re ‘timeless’ by name, not necessarily by nature.
As it happens, I don’t think these shoes are particularly timeless-by-nature. At first glance I was instantly seduced by the bow on the front, which is certainly cute enough, but underneath that I’m seeing something I think of as a “clubbing shoe” – especially in the metallic purple version, seen in the middle of this photo.
Clubbing isn’t something I do a whole lot of these days, so shoes like this don’t hold a whole lot of appeal for me. If they appeal to you, though, they’re £55 and you can buy them here.
I agree the middle ones are very ‘clubby’, but I thought that I’d finally get round to telling you about a thought i’ve had. You aften refer to shoes as evening shoes that you’d never get the chance to wear… I have many shoes like this but don’t wear them in a typical evening sense. I often go out at the weekends but just to a local bar or two and I often wear my sparkly shoes to these, so I get good wear out of them :), don’t think of them as unwearable, plus I get to go out, dress up and have fun!
I would do that too, but I don’t ever go to bars etc either, so I would literally have to wear them around the house! By “evening” I don’t necesarily mean glitzy parties or special events, I just mean shoes that you probably wouldn’t wear to go shopping, or to the office or whatever. I agree that if you do go out often it’s really easy to get a lot of use out of shoes that are very “dressy” – in fact, one of the reasons I love shoes so much is that you can wear a super-fancy pair of shoes with jeans and not look silly. Going to a bar is the kind of thing I’m talking about when I refer to evening shoes, though 🙂
I have to say, these don’t look worth the price..especially the shiney ones!
