Stripe shoes by Alice + OIivia, $325
I feel like I’ve said this a thousand times already this year (especially given that it’s still only January), but black and white stripes: they’re going to be huge this summer. That means you’re probably – or, OK, let’s make that DEFINITELY – going to be seeing a whole lot of stripe shoes here on ShoeperWoman.com, and if you happen to know me in real life, you’ll probably see quite a few pairs on my feet, too. (Not all at once, of course: I’ll try to stick to just the one pair at a time…)
One of the great things about black and white shoes is that they’ll work effortlessly with just about any other colour you can think of. My favourite colour to wear with them, however, is red; yes, it’s easy and a little bit obvious, but that’s because it works. Black, white and red is one of those classic colour combinations (er, a little bit like a newspaper, basically), which is why it works so well on these Alice + Olivia sandals.
These have a knotted canvas upper with red patent leather on the heel, ankle strap and insole. The heel is 4.25 inches, but there’s also a 0.5″ platform, helping to make them a nice, easy-to-walk-in height. There’ll be no shortage of matching black and white items to wear them with this year, but if you don’t want to go too matchy-matchy, I don’t think you need worry, because, as noted above, these are the kind of shoes that will work with just about everything, and will be especially effective with block colours.
If you’re thinking of buying these, Shopbop advise that they run narrow and small, so if you aren’t able to try them on first, you might want to consider going a half or full size up.

I love them. Just love them.
