Giambattisa Valli bow court shoes, £203
The fact that these shoes were found at Yoox.com probably tells you all you need to know about their availability (i.e. there isn’t much of it), but they’re just so beautiful I couldn’t forgive myself if I didn’t flag them up here: there has to be SOMEONE out there who’ll fit these shoes, doesn’t there?
(I actually feel a bit like Prince Charming, trying to find Cinderella now. Well, matching up shoes with people they’d be the perfect match for IS one of my shoeper powers, after all…)
Giambattista Valli has become one of my favourite shoe designers over the last year or so, and when you look at these, it’s not hard to see why. They come in two colourways – cream/black and navy/black – and although the cream version is currently in short supply, there are a few more sizes available in the navy. I’d find it hard to choose between these: while the cream would normally be my first choice, and navy and black is a combination I tend to avoid, I think the latter works wonderfully well on these, and there’s something very sophisticated about it, which I adore.
If neither of these are to your taste, however, how about one of these?
Giambattista satin sandals, £310
It doesn’t get much more festive than red, green and gold, does it? These satin sandals are drop dead gorgeous, and, again, I’d find it really hard to choose between them, given that these are two of my very favourite shoe colours, and both look fabulous with gold. Either one of these would make perfect Christmas party wear, but they’ll both work during the rest of the year too: and if you ever run out of opportunities to wear them, you can feel free to send them my way. Purely for safe keeping, you understand…
