As some of you may have seen from my activity stream last week, for this month’s Sarenza Brand Ambassador pick, I decided to go for the Paul & Betty polka dot sandals I wrote about recently. I say “decided” as if there was a debate about this, but there really wasn’t – my mind was made up as soon as I laid eyes on these, and while the “barely” there design of the vamp is a little bit outwith my comfort zone, and will force me to pay extra attention to my pedicure when I wear them, the polka dot uppers are definitely very “Shoeperwoman”!
I don’t normally do “unboxing” photos, but the shoe box these came in was too pretty not to mention:
So sweet!
I did get a bit of a surprise when I untied that ribbon, though, because what I was expecting to be a very bright, cherry-red upper is actually more of a mauve/pink in real life:
It’s still cute, but the colour difference is something to be aware of if you’re thinking of ordering these.
I went for my usual size UK 4 and would say the fit is true to size, maybe a little bit on the generous side. By that I mean that while the size 4 fits fine, with no pinching or slipping, I would ideally prefer the fit to be just a tiny bit snugger, and if I was ordering again, would perhaps consider going down a 1/2 size. With that said, I’ve so far only tried these around the house: that narrow strap across the toe does have the potential to rub a little, so perhaps I’ll be glad of that extra bit of wiggle room once I put them to the test.
Speaking of which, I will, as always, be featuring these in a Shoe Challenge post soon, so I’ll be able to tell you more about what they’re like to wear then. If you’d like to buy a pair in the meantime, though, you can click here to buy them at Sarenza.
[Disclosure: these were paid for in part by a voucher provided as part of the Sarenza Brand Ambassador programme. All opinions are my own.]
They are quite lovely and I can see in your photos that they’re more pink than red. I still like them!
I love them… but I must admit I would love them more if they would cover my toes. However, I would probably buy them so my bank balance is happy that they aren’t perfect for me 🙂
I love it when a box comes all beautifully wrapped like that, getting a hotly anticipated parcel is always exciting but pretty packaging gives it an extra thrill! It’s like getting a present even though you know what’s inside!
