Shoe of the Day | Aruna Seth green satin crystal butterfly pumps

Aruna Seth green satin crystal butterfly pumps, £650

The crystal butterfly on the toe of Aruna Seth’s green satin pumps is something of a trademark for this brand, who’ve been using this feature on their shoes for a long time now – and to great effect, too. Aruna Seth are a good example of the “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” theory: their designs could be called formulaic – as I said, they’ve been releasing simple, satin pumps with butterfly embellishments for years now – but when the formula is as good as this one, why change it?

I love the green colour of these shoes but if you’re less keen, not to worry: there are four other colours available, and there’s also a flat version, for those who don’t want heels. One of the available uppers is an ivory pearlized leather, which would make beautiful bridal shoes – as would any of the other colours, actually, if you don’t want to go with the traditional white or ivory. The brighter colours, meanwhile, could also work as bridesmaid’s shoes, although given the hefty price tag, you might be tempted to look for a lower-cost alternative!

I also love these peep toes:

Again, these come in a range of colours, but I think this ‘Tiffany blue’ shade is absolutely gorgeous. The mid-height heel would also make these perfect for a wedding – or any other event where you’re going to be on your feet all day, but still need to be appropriately “dressy”, but these are also the kind of shoes I’d want to put out on display somewhere after wearing them – they’re just too beautiful to be tucked away in a closet somewhere!

  • The beauty of the Aruna Seth Pumps would be among the styles that I cherish the most, in fact the pair of royal blue stilettos would have been on their way if it weren’t for the insignificant matter of funds, they’d be in my available to wear status as promptly as possible.
