Steve Madden ‘Galleryl’ leopard print pumps, $105
It’s not often I award Steve Madden the Shoe of the Day spot – his shoes are generally either too “trendy” or too “blatantly copying some other designer” for that, but I’m making an exception for these ‘Galleryl’ pumps because they’re pretty much perfect.
Of course, I’m slightly biased in this respect, in that I rarely meet a leopard print shoe I don’t like. I’ve probably shown you dozens of pairs very, very similar to these ones over the years, but there’s always room for one more and those of you who DON’T already have a small collection of leopard print pumps might appreciate them.
These stand out, not just because of the boldness of the print, but also because of the curve on the side, which creates that fabulous silhouette. A great colour/print and a fantastic shape are all you need in a shoe like this – the fact that these ones are reasonably priced helps too, though.
You know what else is pretty much perfect? This green sweater:
trousers / sweater / coat / bag
Unfortunately, the sweater ISN’T reasonably priced – it’s by Burberry, and it’s over £500 – ouch! I’m going to be keeping an eye out for a cheaper version in a similar colour, but in the meantime, at least the coat and trousers are a little more affordable.
The trousers, in fact, are VERY affordable, at just £24.99 from H&M. From that, you can obviously tell they’re not real leather, but I’ve been tempted to buy a pair of leather trousers for a while now, and given that I’ve no idea how much wear I’d actually get out of them (They’re a little bit of a departure from my usual style!), an imitation pair would probably be a better bet. If you’re braver than me, though, they also come in bright red!
I’m usually not a fan of Steve Madden for the same reason. These are quite lovely though.
