Last week a really exciting parcel arrived at the doors of Shoeper Towers, from online store Missguided.co.uk. They’ve just launched their first ever shoe collection, and very kindly asked me if I’d like to review some of the shoes from it. Well, I took one look at the shoe section of their website before answering, “Er, yes please!” because it’s just filled with some of the prettiest pastels ever. I’m more than a little bit obsessed with pastels right now, so here are my favourites from the current selection, along with a quick review of each of them…
‘Clara’ strappy sandals in baby pink, £24.99
Barely-there sandals have been really popular over the past couple of years, and I’ve recently been bemoaning the lack of them on my shoe shelves, so I decided to start off with these pink ‘Clara’ sandals, which also come in baby blue. These are a faux leather, but they’re much better quality than the price tag would suggest, and feel nice and soft. I love the simplicity of the shape, and went for the baby pink option, partly because I love the colour, and have been wearing it a lot recently, which gives me no end of clothing options for these, but also because it’s pale enough to work with any other colour, too, which gives me even MORE options. The wintry weather has prevented me wearing these out of doors yet, so I’m not sure how comfortable that single strap at the front will be after a few hours of wear, but assuming it doesn’t rub, I can see me getting a lot of use out of these.
One important point here: these sandals run pretty large, so I had to go down a full size to get the perfect fit. These are the UK3, which fit perfectly – my usual 4 was much too large.
Gemma caged heel sandals in lilac, £27.99
Sticking with the “barely-there pastel” theme, these caged heel sandals are different from anything else I own, and are also in a colour I don’t own any shoes in either – in fact, I don’t think I’ve EVER owned lilac shoes! – which is why I decided I needed a pair. (They also come in black, white and orange, for those of you who don’t share my love of pastels.) These have a faux suede upper, and while this particular fabric never feels quite as nice as the real thing, they’re also good quality, and in a perfect not-too-bright colour.
Again, I sized down in these, finding they ran a full size too large.
Finally…
‘Natalie’ court shoes in baby blue, £24.99
Oh, baby blue, how I love you! I’ve wanted shoes in this shade of blue for ages now, and these are exactly what I was looking for: pointed toe, simple shape, fabulous colour. As with the other two pairs, the uppers are man-made, so don’t expect the perfect finish of real leather, but for £24.99 I think they’re a bargain, and can’t wait to wear them!
These shoes DO run true to size, and this is the UK 4. When I first took them out of the box, I thought they were also going to be too large, but I was proved wrong: I did also try the size 3, and couldn’t even get my foot into them, so I’d say go with your usual size if you’re buying these. They also come in neon yellow, which I’m not so keen on, and baby pink, which I very much AM keen on. Tempted? I am…
[Thanks to Misguided for providing the shoes for this post! As always, all opinions are my own…]
Loving those lilac sandals, but for some reason they look like two completely different shoes (in colour).
Hi Tracey – the lilac shoe is most like the colour shown the first photo 🙂
OMG I just found some time to catch up with my blog reading, and you’re killing me with all the beautiful shoes you’ve posted on your blog. But these ones, are by far my favorites! Love all 3 of them. I’m sure you’ll wear them a lot in summer.
are the shoes comfortable?
