Nine West ‘Loela’, $66.99

Shoeper Sale Alert, everyone! These Nine West ‘Loela’ sandals are currently down to $66.99 from the original $99. This puts them right at that dangerous price-point where even although I know perfectly well that I have absolutely no need for a pair of bright blue evening sandals, I’d be very tempted to buy them anyway, because you just never know, do you?

Of course, this is exactly the kind of shoe-shopping behaviour the Shoe Challenge is designed to put a stop to, but while it’s always good to shop sensibly, sometimes a splurge is just what you need, and if that splurge just-so-happens to be perfectly package in bright blue satin, then so much the better.

The colour is what initially drew me to these shoes, but it’s far from the only thing that makes them worthy of attention. I don’t tend to wear a lot of strappy sandals, but I’m sucker for this kind of high-sided shape, which I think looks wonderful on a foot, and gives the shoe a very elegant and unusual feel. The satin uppers on these make them very much an “occasion” shoe: they’d be nice bridesmaid shoes, or could even be an affordable “something blue” for a bride, but they’re also the kind of thing that will perfectly compliment a little black cocktail dress, or even a colourful floral skirt.

Despite the price-drop, these are still available in a wide range of sizes at Zappos, so there’s still plenty of time to grab a pair if you like them.
