Moschino black and white bow sandals, £436
When you read the words “black and white bow sandals” in the title of this post, these probably weren’t quite what you were expecting, huh? For me, those words conjure up the image of something very delicate and strappy (and probably either silver or gold, into the bargain), but these Moschino sandals… well, I guess you could call them strappy, but they’re still worlds away from the barely-there shoes I normally associate with that word.
Not that any of that’s a bad thing, I hasten to add – quite the opposite, in fact. We’ve seen SO many iterations of the bow sandal now that it would be easy to assume that there’s no way of re-inventing it, but these are refreshingly different, and perhaps a little more fashion-forward than many of the other bow sandals around, too. I really like the black and white upper – it’s such a simple colourway, but it’s so effective, and so easy to wear, too: there aren’t many colours that won’t work with black and white, and the suede/leather contrast on these shoes adds an additional point of interest.
The wide straps, meanwhile, look like they’d be soft against the skin, and hopefully a little more comfortable than a traditional strappy sandal. These fasten with a gold zip at the back of the heel, making them easy to slip on and off, and I think the only thing I don’t like about them is the price tag: at £436 these are definitely an investment purchase, but if it’s an investment you’re willing to make, you’ll find them over at Spartoo!
