Miu Miu suede platform sandals with embellished heels, 990 EUR
The last pair of Miu Miu shoes I featured were pretty out there, so here’s a pair that should be just a little bit more wearable – although I’m aware as I write this that “wearable” probably isn’t a word many people would associate with heels this high, or this embellished. It’s not like you could wear them to walk the dog or run errands, is it – although, I guess you could if you really wanted to, and you didn’t mind risking damaging your 1000 euro designer heels!
These shoes, of course, are all about those heels: the rest doesn’t even get a look in. I mean, there’s not really any point in me trying to draw your attention to the black suede uppers, the narrow ankle strap or the chunky platform sole: you’re just going to be all, “Yeah, yeah, Shoeperwoman, we get it – but what about those HEELS?!”
And what ABOUT those heels? Well, they’re just spectacular, aren’t they? The word that most readily springs to mind when I think of Miu Miu would be “sparkle”, and while that sparkle most often comes in the form of a glitter-encrusted upper, I think these heels more than qualified, with their silver mirrored background and all-over crystals. They’re very Miu Miu, and very glamorous (also very expensive, although that goes without saying, really…), but, unlike the gold pointed low-heeled pumps I showed you last week, these don’t look too costumey, or over-the-top. I never thought I’d see the day when a pair of low-heeled shoes would seem more outrageous than something like these, but if ever there was a brand to do it, Miu Miu would be that brand!
