Combinations of red and gold never fail to make me think of Christmas – and, more specifically, of Father Christmas, which is possibly a bit odd, as he’s not traditionally depicted wearing gold, but there you have it.
Now, this could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending how you look at it. For myself, I prefer not to think about Christmas at all until the week before it, but I guess if there IS a time when it’s possible to get a way with a festive-looking shoe, now would be that time. These Miss Selfridge pumps have a red upper with a gold toecap, plus a gold ankle-strap and heel detail, which I really like. I’m sure I don’t need to add that the toecap is also very fashionable right now, but I have a feeling it’s not going anywhere soon, so these aren’t going to date too quickly either.
I’d like them without the ankle strap, and it looks like it can be removed. Very nice!
