Maison Martin Margiela for H&M shoes

Maison Martin Margiela shoes

If you read my other site, The Fashion Police, then you probably already know that Maison Martin Margiela is one of my least favourite clothing brands. I have never pretended to be remotely “edgy”, and, to me at least, a lot of the designs are just plain comical.

Oddly enough, though, as much as I dislike the clothes, I’ve always been rather partial to the shoes, and I actually love the ones shown above, which are part of the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M line. These are based on a classic Margiela design, and look even better on the foot, with the perspex wedge making the wearing look a little bit like they’re being supported on air. They’re unusual without being impossible to wear, and if the prices were closer to H&M than to Margiela (the shoes are £149.99 and the boots £199.99), I would definitely have been tempted. Sadly, though, even if these were in my price range, the nude pair, which are my favourites, are already sold out online. At the time of writing, the boots and red/black pumps were still available in some sizes, though: click here to check if yours is among them!
