Jimmy Choo Lorelai 100 Floral Glittered Leather Ankle-Strap Pumps, £1,029
Today was one of those days when I found myself having to search my own blog, because I was certain I’d already shown you the shoe I was about to post. (In my defence, I’ve written about a LOT of pairs of shoes over the years: after a while, even I start having trouble keeping up with them all!) As it turns out, I haven’t shown you Jimmy Choo’s ‘Lorelai’ ankle strap pumps, but I know I’ve shown you something very similar – and quite recently too: I just can’t remember what it was! D’oh!
Anyway, even if you had seen these shoes before, I reckon they’d be worth a second look, because they’re just so pretty, don’t you think? I’d have liked the glittered upper on its own, but the floral appliqué is a pretty little touch, which adds a bit of delicacy to the design. The metal heel and low vamp complete this look, and while I’d always prefer for a shoe not to have an ankle strap, this one doesn’t look out of place, so I’m sure I’d be able to live with it.
Also by Jimmy Choo, but in a completely different style, are these platform sandals:
Now, normally a busy pattern like this one wouldn’t appeal to me at all, and, looking at it objectively, I’d have to say that it DOESN’T hold any appeal: in fact, if I were to see it on a dress or something, say, I’d probably hate it. For some reason, though, I don’t hate these sandals: in fact, there’s something about them I really quite like. I suspect it’s the shape rather than the pattern that’s doing it (In fact, I suspect the shape makes me like them in spite of the pattern), but strangely enough, I can actually imagine wearing these – or trying to, anyway!
