Hobbs is one of those brands I associate with the words “classic” and “grown up”. They sell great quality pieces, in timeless styles, which are the kind of clothes you’ll have in your closet for years.
With all of that said, even Hobbs appears to have succumbed to the 70s-fever that’s infected almost all of the spring/summer previews I’ve been featuring this week. Uh-oh. I’m starting to worry now, folks. And, to be fair, this particular collection contains only a few pieces in that style (floral-print flares and bellbottom jeans, I’m looking at you…), but even so: if you’re not a fan of flares, patchwork pockets and loud, clashing floral prints, this summer could be a tough one for you. (Although, to look on the bright side, it should be a relatively cheap one, too….)
Also on the plus side, would you just look at that gingham dress at the top of the page! It goes right onto the Shoeper Wish List, and I can’t wait until it becomes available to buy, because it looks like just the thing for a warm summer day, worn with cork wedges and maybe a straw handbag. It’s the perfect way to round off this week of summer previews: now all we need is some sunshine!
(These items will all be available in the coming weeks: keep an eye on the Hobbs website if there’s something you fancy!)
Love the gingham dress – can definitely see you wearing it! I’m not a fan of the 70s style though so disappointed at the previews you’ve shared recently. Having seen the catwalks though, knew it was coming! However not a style I’ll be buying into.
Love the yellow and gingham dresses. But I can’t comprehend why they should pair such classic pieces with the sandals. Ugh! The Birkenstock trend.
I’m hoping to see more previews.
I think you’re right Amber! Cheap spring summer for me as the 70s doesn’t do it for me.
That b&w check dress does though!
