Guess ‘Abbiel‘, £111
Don’t be deceived by these shoes: although that wedge heel looks pretty low in the picture, Sarenza give the height at 10cm, which is actually fairly high by many people’s standards.
Not that it really matters in this case. While low-wedges CAN run the risk of looking slightly “orthopaedic” if you’re not careful, I don’t think gingham could look sensible if it tried. It’s one of those quintessentially playful prints, which instantly cheers up anything it’s applied to, and it never fails to win me over, as regular readers will know by now.
As for peep toe wedges? They never (or rarely) fail to win me over, either. I already have a pair in this style, albeit with a much higher heel, but for some reason that didn’t stop me oooh-ing and aaah-ing over these ones when I came across them. Some things never change, I guess.
Still, at least I managed to get through an entire post about gingham without using the words “picnic blanket” once. Oh no, wait…
There’s a first time for… no there’s isn’t. These are great summer shoes. They certainly don’t look 10cm to me though.
