How to get the retro look on a serious budget

how to get the reto look on a serious budget

If you think rocking the retro look involves spending a lot of money on vintage clothes or expensive retro-reproduction pieces, think again: and just look at this outfit, from the gorgeous CiCi Marie!

This look has a real pin-up girl appeal to it, but believe it or not, this dress is just £22 – and it’s not from a retro brand, either: it’s from good ol’ ASOS!

Oh, and if you happen to like spots as well as stripes (and, I mean, who doesn’t?), there’s also a similar polka dot version here, for the same low price:

This dress doesn’t have the fold-over neckline detail the stripe one has (which may or may not be a good thing, depending on whether you share my struggle to keep that type of neckline in place when you’re wearing it!), but both of these dresses are a really good example of how you don’t necessarily need to spend a lot of money to look stylish. They’re both just £22, but as CiCi’s look shows, they really don’t look it when they’re worn, and they both have that pin-up inspired glamour that a lot of people assume requires a lot of time and effort. Actually, though, all you REALLY need is…

  • A bodycon dress
  • With a bardot neckline
  • In a fun print
  • With a pop or bright red lipstick
  • And some awesome winged eyeliner

Of course, CiCi’s hair and accessorising is totally on point too, and you should check out her blog for more of the same. If you’re a style blogger who’d like to feature here on ShoeperWoman.com, meanwhile, all you need to do is follow my group Pinterest board, and then drop me a comment/email with your Pinterest user name, so I can invite you to the board.
