Christian Louboutin Pigalle 120 multicolour spikes, £823
I’ve been admiring these shoes for weeks now (Seriously, every time they cross my radar – which is pretty often – I think, “oooh, I must feature those on ShoeperWoman!”, then I never get round to it), and today seems like as good a day as any to give them their moment in the Friday Fix spotlight.
So, what can I say about the Pigalle 120 pumps, that I haven’t said a million times before? Honestly? Not much. These shoes are one of my all-time favourite Louboutin styles, and they’ve appeared on these pages more time than I can count. Despite this, however, I still love them just as much as I ever did (My own Pigalles are probably the most frequently worn shoes in my collection), and I particularly love the fact that Louboutin is continually updating them, with different uppers which breathe new life into this old classic.
As for this particular version, well, the ‘Pigalle Spike’ is a well-known variation on the style, and this season its had a multicolour makeover, with a stark white upper adorned with colourful spikes. It kinda reminds me of candy – that’s a GOOD thing, trust me – and although I’ve always thought of ‘Pigalle’ as a very grown-up, sophisticated kind of style, this upper has a more youthful, light-hearted feel to it.
The one downside to these shoes is the price. The spike uppers make this style much more expensive than the more classic ‘Pigalles’, and these will set you back £823 at Saks: ouch.
Confetti shoes! They are perfection!
I like them – they are good fun!
