Business in front, party in back? Well, not quite: I don’t think any of these shoes could really be described as “businesslike” – from any angle. They, DO, however, all look good from the back: take a look, and see what you think…
Aruna Seth ‘Cerise’ heels, £755
The ultimate in embellished heel shoes: these Aruna Seth ‘Cerise’ peep toes are totally over-the-top, and will be WAY too much for some tastes. They’re relatively simple from the front, however – if a pair of bright red satin peep toes can ever be described as “simple”, that is…
Sophia Webster ‘Coco’ crystal pumps, £380
I’m not sure if you can even see these white Sophia Webster pumps against the white background of the screen, but if you can’t, don’t worry: you’re not missing much. It’s the heels where all the action is, and the multicoloured beads (if that’s the right name for them!) more than make up for the lack of colour on the upper.
Marni flower appliqué heels, £434
From the front, these Marni pumps actually ARE fairly businesslike – “sensible”, even. I’m not sure I’d describe the flower on the heel as a “party”, because it’s actually quite restrained: it is very usual, though, and contrasts nicely with the dark suede upper.
Dolce & Gabbana ‘Kringle‘, £825
A pair of black raffia sandals get a summery feel, thanks to the daisy appliqué on the block heel. There’s also a floral print underneath that, just in case those flowers weren’t quite enough for you.
Rene Caovilla Swarovski Crystal & Suede Pumps, £910
It’s a good job the front of this shoe is so plain: the heel has so much embellishment that any more would surely be overkill! These shoes are encursted with Swarovski crystals, which helps explain the high price: whether it justifies it or not is, of course, completely up to you.
