I want to be Elle Fanning. Not only is she as cute as a button, but as the current face of Miu Miu, she also gets to wear their clothes (and, of course, their shoes ) on a daily basis: and sometimes on a TWICE daily basis, as these pictures show.Oh,and she’s FIFTEEN. Jealous? Me? Why, I don’t know what you’re talking about…
The image at the top of the page is from last week’s Miu Miu runway show at Paris Fashion Week, and Elle’s wearing the brand’s painted flower-toe leather pumps (£428), along with a beautiful, baby-blue coat which, needless to say, I’m also seriously coveting right now. These shoes are a really good example of why it’s always handy to see a shoe being worn before you make a decision about it: although I like the floral-print design on the toe, I’d probably have scrolled right past these on the Saks website, thinking the heel too low and the toe too long for them to really appeal to me. They look fantastic on Elle, though, and are so fresh and spring-like, that I really like them.
Elle Fanning’s Miu Miu look on a high street budget
Just for fun, I decided to try to re-create this look using pieces from the high-street (with the exception of the shoes, of course!), and here’s what I came up with:
As much as I love pastels, and think most pastel shades work really well with each other, combining three of them into one outfit can be hard to do without ending up looking a bit like an ice cream sundae. If I was wearing something like this in real life, I’d probably swao the lemon top for a white or cream one, just to tone things down a little: oh, and I’d definitely go with a slightly longer skirt!
You have picked up on the two things I immediately noticed when I saw this picture yesterday: the shoes and the coat. Both beautiful.
