Dune ‘Brionie’ embellished court shoes, £115
Well, no one could accuse Dune’s ‘Brionie’ court shoes of not taking the party season seriously enough, could they? They’re all dressed up, not only with a shiny satin upper, but with an all-over embellishment featuring lots of different jewels, scattered over the surface. It’s a nice effect, which is actually more understated than it sounds, and I like Dune’s suggestion of wearing these with tailored trousers and a fitted shirt: there comes a point in any party season (and I know we’re nowhere near it yet, but honestly, the fatigue is setting already for me, just from thinking about it, and hearing people talk about it…) where I get tired of all the glitter and evening dresses (yes, really), and just long for something simple, so Dune, I like your style!
Some other Dune styles I’m liking right now:
Breanna will be a familiar sight to Dune fans: they’ve released this style a few times now, in different uppers (most notably in a bright blue that recalled the famous Manolos Carrie Bradshaw wore in Sex and the City), and I never get tired of it. This version is available in gold and silver lace, which lends a new delicacy to the look which was missing from the previous versions: gorgeous!
Madore, meanwhile, also has a lace-effect upper, although this one is a peep toe shape, with a d’orsay cut and a bow on the toe. These also come in a gold glittered upper, which is also night – somewhat unusually for me, however, I’m finding myself drawn to the black version, which is a perfect party shoe.
Finally, another pair of ankle boots:
There’s no escaping boots at this time of year, but I think these are nicer than most, thanks to the burgundy suede upper, and close-fitting ankle. They’ll work with trousers or skirts, and also have a low heel, which should make them comfortable to walk on.
