Phase Eight ‘Adele’ blossom dress, £140
Phase Eight isn’t a brand that tends to cross my radar very often, but I spotted this ‘Adele’ dress on Deborah from Hello Deborah a couple of days ago, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was from the high street – at first glance, I’d have assumed this was by one of the retro reproduction brands, like Stop Staring, Collectif or similar.
It may be from the high street, however, but this dress is very much vintage inspired, with its full skirt, nipped-in waist and sweetheart neckline: there’s even a built-in tulle underskirt to give it a bit of added volume. I also adore the pretty floral print fabric, and while I’d probably swap the ribbon belt for a regular one, to make it a little less formal, I think it’s the kind of dress that would be lovely as wedding guest attire, or simply as a classic summer dress.
Here are some other Phase Eight picks: I really need to make a point of checking this brand out more often – some of their clothes are absolutely gorgeous!
Amandine a-line dress, £140
Such a pretty colour and print, and I also really like the textured fabric, which I find doesn’t tend to crease as easily as some other fabrics – a big plus point for those of us who detest ironing!
Odette grossgrain dress, £150
This one is marketed as a bridesmaid’s dress, and while I think it would definitely be a fantastic choice for that, I also think it could work for non-bridal events, too: it would be a lovely evening dress for any special event, really!
Lorna white jacquard skirt, £75
I couldn’t fail to include this gorgeous white jacquard skirt! I love full skirts at any time of year, but I’m particularly keen on white ones for summer: they’re just so fresh and delicate, and will, of course, work with any colour of shoes and tops you like!
The printed florals are so very well done. Anyone’s wardrobe would seem deficient if these were not part of the selections.
