OK, let’s give this whole ‘Dress of the Day’ thing another go…

I love dresses. You’ve probably gathered that, if you’ve been reading this site for more than a couple of weeks. Along with shoes, dresses are my Kryptonite, which is why I start this column up again every so often, only for it to fall by the wayside, either because I run out of time, I run out of dresses to write about (the horror!), or I start to worry that I’m showing you too many near-identical styles: mostly midi-length, retro-inspired numbers – a bit like the one above, actually.

This time around, I’m going to give myself permission not to worry too much about that last one. The fact is, these are the styles I love, and if you follow my blog, I’m guessing it’s probably because you gravitate towards similar styles, too. I learned a long time ago that I can’t possibly please everyone, or be all things to all people, so, going forward, it’s only fair to warn you that this column will likely be filled with more of the same: if you have similar taste to me, great, and if not, it shouldn’t be too hard to just not click on the Dress of the Day posts, now that you know what to expect!

And with that out of the way, would you look at this little beauty! Chi Chi London is a brand I’ve mentioned a few times lately: over the past year or so they seem to have come almost out of nowhere, and have quickly established themselves as one of the best dress retailers online. Best of all, their dresses are very reasonably price considering how gorgeous they are – isn’t it refreshing to see a dress as beautiful as this one, and discover that it’s NOT going to cost a couple of thousand pounds?

This dress comes in baby blue and cream, and I’d find it really hard to choose between the two, because they’re both so lovely. I particularly like the little flat bow belt at the waist, which gives it a real “vintage” feel. Would it be too much to get both, do you think?

  • Can’t have enough of your dress post. These dresses are lovely. The cream one is similar to your Asos Debutant Dress.
