You know all of those plain pairs of pumps and peep toes you have lying around (and by “you” I mean “that I have lying around”)? Well, here’s an easy way to give them a new lease of life. These are by a company called Dekkori, and they sell a range of ankle straps, foot straps, and even little fake “bootie” accessories that you can attach to your existing shoes, giving them anything from a bit of extra embellishment to a completely new look.
Not all of the add-ons will be to everyone’s taste, of course, but it does seem like a fun way to get a high-fashion look out of a pair of your existing shoes. The big drawback, however, seems to be the price: starting at about $45 for one of the smaller accessories, these go to well over $100 for some of the “boots”, making many of them as expensive as a new pair of shoes – or even more than one pair, depending on where you shop.
What do you think of this idea? If you’d like to take a look at the styles on offer, you’ll find the Dekkori website here.
I’d rather buy a whole new pair of shoes for that kind of money.
I’d have thought most people would be bored with the “put loads of stuff round your ankles” fashion by now; and anyone not bored with it would have had plenty of opportunity to buy such shoes/sandals over the past couple of years…
I thought it was an excellent idea, till I saw the prices… I would buy a new pair!
