Ultimate Closet Essentials | Short-sleeve tops

black and white t-shirts // polka dot shell top // stripe tank // white tank // bardot top
Another area of the closet essentials list where a “you can never have too many” rule applies! These are worn both as layering pieces and on their own on warmer days, and I’ve included…
Basic t-shirts
I like Dorothy Perkins’ slash-neck t-shirts, which come in a range of colours. Ideally, I’d buy them all, but I’ve narrowed it down to the “can’t-live-without” colours of black and white.
Shell tops
Shell tops are a little dressier than tees-n-tanks, and look good with trousers and pencil skirts. Because I’m trying to keep my capsule wardrobe as small as I can, I’d generally go for block colours like black or white (again!), but this time I’ve included both of those colours in a fun polka dot print.
Tank tops
Mostly worn layered under cardigans or sweaters, mine are mostly black, white or stripe.
Bardot tops
These have been huge this year, but are very classic, with a bit of a retro twist. I love the fact that such an inexpensive basic can instantly glam-up a pair of jeans or skirt.
Navy and natural blazers, skinny jeans, pointy-toe flats in black, a billowy blouse and shift dresses.
Looking at the first page (haven’t read through the entire post yet) I can already say two things: 1) I love all the items shown 🙂 and 2) I’d also add a large carry-all bag (it’s essential for uni students to carry around everything they own so I definitely use big bags the most)
Love the roundup! I need more skirts in my life..
