ShoeperWoman’s Ultimate Closet Essentials

Ultimate Closet Essentials | Knitwear and long-sleeve tops

ultimate capsule wardrobe: knitwear

fisherman jumper // pastel sweater // stripe top // green cardigan // black cardigan

Knitwear and long-sleeve tops are also really important in a climate like Scotland’s, and this is is definitely one section of the wardrobe in which you really can’t have too many variations. My closet essentials include…

Chunky knits

For the coldest of days, worn mostly with jeans or other trousers. If I could only choose one, I’d go for a cream or off-white colour, which would work with most things.

Fine knit sweaters

Fitted, fine-knit sweaters look good with jeans, trousers and skirts, and can be dressed up or down as required. I’ve long-since realised that V-necks don’t really work with my figure, so I go for crew or slash-neck styles. I wear pastel shades al year round, finding them more flattering than darker colours.

Stripe tops

I genuinely don’t think I could have too many stripe tops: a true closet essential!

Cardigans

Because it’s rarely warm enough for me to want to bare my arms, I collect cardigans in every colour imaginable. My absolute cardigan closet essentials would be black, white, navy and green, but again, I don’t think I could have too many of these. My preference is for cropped, fitted styles, which work best with dresses and skirts, and I’ve been known to seek these out in the children’s department if I can’t find any in the ladies section.

  • Looking at the first page (haven’t read through the entire post yet) I can already say two things: 1) I love all the items shown 🙂 and 2) I’d also add a large carry-all bag (it’s essential for uni students to carry around everything they own so I definitely use big bags the most)
