Seeing as I was just talking about pink shoes, here’s Carvela’s Kite platforms, which are like an ice cream sundae on a hot summer’s day. Literally, I mean. Don’t the colours in this shoe make you think of ice cream?
This is a particularly nice mix of colours, I think: while there’s no doubt that all that pink is very sweet and girlish, it somehow managed not to be too saccharine, and I think these would look fantastic with some of the many pastel pieces that are filling the shelves this Spring. I’m a big fan of the metallic layer in the sole, and also of the t-bar strap:
Interestingly, although I consider myself to be a “red” girl rather than a “pink” one, the red version of this shoe just doesn’t do it for me, for some reason, although I’m willing to believe that it might be better in real life:
These are £130 and you can click here to buy them at Kurt Geiger.
I am generally much more accepting of a super-high platform when it is 1-on a sandal, rather than a pump/peep-toe; and 2-made interesting or broken up into layers, like in this case. That makes the platform part of the entire shoe, visually, rather than just a stilt.
I much prefer the pink version. I love me a T-bar shoe!
