Badgley Mischka Giovana T Strap Sandals, $225
These shoes appeared on the Shopbop website just few days ago, but at the time of writing, they’re already almost sold out, so:
a) Sorry about that, to those of you who’re disappointed
b) Are you really that surprised, though?
I’m not. That shiny gold upper and jewel encrusted t-bar guaranteed these a place on my Shopbop wish list (Don’t you just love a site that lets you set up a wish list to keep track of all the things you want, but can’t possibly justify buying?) as soon as I laid eyes on them. They’re the kind of evening shoes that would be there for you through every kind of special occasion imaginable, and given that they’re (comparatively) reasonably priced, at $225, you can’t say fairer than that.
Of course, there IS the small matter of the low stock, so here’s another Badgley Mishka alternative:
Badgley Mischka ‘Landmark’ strappy sandals, $185
These aren’t quite as show-stopping as the first pair – they’re designed to compliment your outfit, as opposed to being the focal point of it – but they’re still a pretty pair of shoes, in that effortless kind of style that’s so characteristic of evening shoes. Badgley Mishka, are, of course, famous for this style of shoe, and are particularly popular for weddings, whether they be worn by the bride herself, the bridesmaids, or one of the guests. If you’re in the former category, how about these as your “something blue”?
Badgley Mischka ‘Giana’ d’orsay pumps, $225
Also available in baby pink, this is a classic d’orsay peep toe, with a decorative crystal flower embellishment on the toe. These do have a very “weddingy” vibe about them, but they wouldn’t look out of place at other events which require a bit of dressing up.
I’ve never seen Badgley Mischka shoes here in Australia. I’ve been missing out!
