WHAT: Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Cherries Shoes
WHEN: June 2011
WHERE: On holiday in Los Angeles
WITH: Yellow 50s style dress (gifted), Target sunglasses
This is my final vacation Shoe Save, which means that from now on it’s back to finding ways to wear all of my remaining summer shoes when the sky is considerably less blue than it was on the day these photos were taken! (Oh, how I miss it! Did I mention how much I miss it? Looking at the photos is making me homesick, even although that isn’t actually my home...)
These are my Vivienne Westwood for Melissa ‘Cherries’ shoes. They’ve been on vacation with me twice now, and will no doubt travel with me again in the future, because it turns out that white plastic shoes go with everything. WHO KNEW?
With the shoes I wore a yellow, 50s style sundress. Well, of course I did.
Right after these photos were taken, I went to the Unique Vintage store in Burbank to do some shopping. “They’ll think I’ve come in costume!” I said to Terry as we walked through the door. (I was like a kid in a sweet shop in that place, I swear. If I ever go back to LA, I’m going to just set up camp outside it.)
I know I’ve said it a few times now, but I do love a dress with pockets…
And that’s it for the holiday shoe challenges! Now to get on with saving all of the pairs that didn’t fit into my shoetcase. I mean suitcase.
Is the yellow a conincidence or are you participating at http://www.everybodyeverywear.com? 🙂 Fabulous dress, btw. Makes it extra hard to pick my does of yellow today ^^
Relatable Style
Yes, I put the badge at the bottom of the post – or at least, I think I did – *goes off to check*
Now I see it. When I looked earlier I didn’t see it… Or had just hit myself with the stupid stick. It happens ^^
I love the vintage vibe of your outfit – gorgeous!!
I love that dress! And the shoes too, obviously!
Love the dress – and those shoes are absolutely fabulous!!!!
That yellow dress is perfection!!! I love how you styled it all pinup-y with the shoes, sunglasses, lipstick, and bun, too!
You always look so glamorous Amber and especially so here. I am amazed at how chic you look even when on holiday! You are an inspiration! 🙂
Thank you! I rarely feel very glamorous – I was absolutely boiling here, and shiny with sunscreen! – so that’s a particularly lovely thing to hear 🙂
Glamtastic! You are making me reach for my credit card to purchase some VW’s. Everytime I see yours I think…why don’t I have some…?
Hmmmmm.
I love the dress and those shoes! I never thought that I’ll find plastic shoes attractive, but from the moment I saw you wearing those I changed my mind. They are amazing, and I would love to buy them. Those cherries are so cuteeee…Unfortunately, I’ve never seen them in my country, and I guess now it’s too late.
I think eBay would probably be your best bet now, unfortunately – I’ll keep an eye out, though!
I can’t walk in my VW Melissa heels. But I still saved them. That’s challenge dedication, non?
It does indeed 🙂
That dress is absolutely fantastic!! You look like a scene out of an Audrey Hepburn movie.
I came because of your amazing dress and it was a bonus that your shoes also rock! I agree that dresses with pockets are better than those without.
I am so obsessed with this dress. And your blog. I love it!
My, my, my. The only thing cuter than that dress are those shoes! This is an adorable outfit!
That dress looks so nice in you! What a beautiful shape.
Wow! I love the vintage vibe. The yellow stripes are fantastic. I really like those shoes too. I just learned about your Show Challenge. I know I’m late, but I think I can wear all my shoes by Valentine’s day.
I have just saved a picture of this dress because as soon as I know what the hell I am doing with that darn sewing machine THIS is what I want to make!
The way the panelling at the top creates a chevron effect is so lovely, and the full skirt is just stunning.
You truly are an inspiration to the rest of us folks who hope to one day manage even a little bit as much glam in our lives as you do!
What a beuatiful dress! And those shoes are amazing!
I love your style – well, me and the rest of the blogosphere, so it’s not a surprise! Gorgeous dress and shoes, but above all, gorgeous smile, so nice you had great holidays!
Amber, that dress is stunning and even more stunning on you! You look radiant in this!
That dress is incredible and I love the shoes too!

I adore this outfit – you look so glamorous! Those cherry shoes are amazing.
I love those shoes and SO regret not buying them. Are they TTS? I’m looking for them constantly on ebay.
I’m embarrassed to admit I don’t know what TTS means!

Absolutely love those plastic shoes! Perfect for the yellow dress. Love the hairstyle and sunglasses too. Perfect combinations, eh.
